Old Business – from March 2024
- State Inspection: Our 5-year inspection will be in June. More information will be forthcoming. Every unit is inspected by the state inspector.
- Pool: Steve has met with the pool maintenance company. He stressed the importance of the “pool squad”, (formed last summer), for a successful pool season. The pool committee can, with approval of the board, clarify/modify, the pool rules of conduct. A pool company is responsible for keeping the pool properly maintained-providing appropriate chemicals, weekly cleaning and having a CPO, on staff to visit on a weekly basis.
- Wilson will be consulted on the feasibility and steps required for HH to be a smoke free building.
New Business
- Smoking in Building: As suggested at the March condo meeting regarding the possibility/feasibility of Heather House becoming a smoke-free building to include units, Mr. Wilson was consulted. If a new By-Law were to be passed, current residents who smoke would be grandfathered (not have to restrict smoking in their units). After views were shared, to determine whether this proposal will be further addressed, residents will receive a ballot in June (Yes/No to smoke-free question).
- Fire Alarms: Independent Alarm will be here on Thursday, April 18th starting between 9 and 10.
- Pool: Steve Papp and the new pool management company have started preparations for the pool. Steve explained the importance of the “pool squa”. The “pool squa” maintains the log book of the pool’s water quality which must be tested four times a day. A sign-up notice for the “pool squa” volunteers and a meeting will be on the lobby bulletin board.
- Goodbye: In the past weeks we said goodbye to Tom Hohl (Unit 47) and the Goldman’s (Unit 31).
- Welcome: Bill in Unit 31.
- A variety of issues were discussed/addressed:
- Fluctuating water temperatures were a concern by some residents. The Board will get input from our plumber.
- Apex Exterminating will be going into certain units.
- Draining on the Kraft Avenue side is a result of the original drainage pipes that will need repair.
May meeting: Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 15th at 7:00 PM.
Move to adjourn at 7:35 by Charlie Schaefer and Joan Pacheco.
